Thomas and Mack Center


The Thomas and Mack Center is an arena situated on the grounds of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Paradise, Nevada. It is house of the UNLV Runnin Rebels basketball group of the Mountain West Conference. The facility was 1st started out in the summer of 1983. The gala grand launching was organized on December 16, 1983, presenting Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Diana Ross. The center serves numerous events, such as concerts, music festivals, conventions and boxing cards. For ring activities, the potential is 19,522 and for basketball, the potential is 18,000.

Its main renter is the UNLV mens basketball group. The arena was nicknamed the Shark Tank after Jerry Tarkanian, the UNLV coach when it launched, who won a national championship in 1990 and had taken the team to three additional Final Fours. It also serves the National Finals Rodeo yearly. It also organized the PBR World Finals from 1999 to 2015 prior to the event relocated to the new T-Mobile Arena for the 2016 season. The service also managed the Las Vegas Thunder of the now defunct International Hockey League. It was also sponsor of the Los Angeles Lakers pre season games yearly in October through 2013. In 2014 and 2015 their games were shifted to MGM Grand Garden Arena.
This is the location where CM Punk's popular (Pipebomb) took place on June 27, 2011. Also held No Way Out in 2001, the first version of Raw Roulette in 2002, Vengeance in 2005, and No Way Out in 2008.
